If you search for the price of an AI receptionist you mostly find "contact sales" pages. Here are our actual numbers, what moves them, and how to tell whether it is worth it for your business. Prices below come from our plan and price calculator, which always shows the current price.
The short answer
For a small business, the AI receptionist is priced from $99/mo + $150 setup (Lite: after-hours and missed calls, one number, a text summary). The plan most businesses with a busy phone pick is $199 a month plus a $250 setup. Everything is month-to-month, with no contract.
Our prices, plan by plan
- Lite, from $99/mo + $150 setup: after-hours and missed calls only, one number, a text summary of each call.
- After-hours, $129/mo + $250 setup: nights, weekends and missed calls.
- 24/7, $199/mo + $250 setup: all calls, plus appointment booking and the text summary.
- Multi-line, $349/mo + $250 setup: adds CRM sync, call transfer and up to 3 lines.
The setup covers a custom call script and FAQ built from your business. You also get a monthly call report, and calls that need you are transferred to you. The AI receptionist goes live in about 5 business days after you send us your details.
What changes the price
Three things: when it answers (only what you miss, nights and weekends, or every call), how many lines it covers, and whether it books appointments and syncs with a CRM. A shop that closes at 5 pm and mostly loses after-hours calls does not need the same plan as a company whose phone rings all day while the crew is on jobs.
Missed-call text-back is a separate, smaller piece
Missed-call text-back, which texts every caller you miss, starts at $49 a month plus a $199 setup for one location. Texting a customer in the US requires carrier registration (10DLC), and the carriers charge for it. We pay those fees at cost with no markup: roughly $20 to $70 one-time for registration, then about $3 to $12 a month for the number, registration and texts. Carrier approval is why text-back takes about 2 to 3 weeks to go live, while the AI receptionist takes about 5 business days.
What the market charges
Our calculator shows a typical US range next to our price so you can compare. For service-business AI answering plans that note reads roughly $150 to $400 a month, with most small businesses at $50 to $200. The sources behind those ranges are listed at the bottom of the calculator page. Always compare what is included: setup, number of lines, booking, and who fixes things when something changes.
A simple way to check if it pays for itself
Take two numbers you already know: the value of an average job and how often a caller who reaches you becomes a customer. Here is an example with made-up numbers, not a benchmark or a client result: if an average job is $500 and 3 in 10 callers book, one missed call costs you about $150 in lost revenue ($500 × 30%). On that example, the $199 plan is covered by about 1.3 extra booked jobs a month. Your numbers will differ, and no one can promise you a number of bookings. Our missed-call revenue calculator lets you try your own figures, and the missed call cost guide explains the math.
What you are not paying for
No long contract: monthly services are month-to-month and you can cancel before your next billing date. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first month of any new monthly service (details on the guarantee page). You do not need to change your phone number; calls reach the AI when you cannot pick up, on the schedule you set.
Where it is not the right fit
An AI receptionist is not a replacement for your people and it does not make judgment calls for you. If your calls are mostly long, complex consultations, a person should take them. It is built for the calls nobody can pick up. You can hear it yourself: the demo line on the AI receptionist page is answered by the same system.
